Community Co-investments
  • Both the enablement trust and the investment trust are entities which enable young aspirant black entrepreneurs to realise dreams and objectives.
  • Entrepreneurs are selected on merit whereby the trusts have provided funding in the order of R 500 000 - R2,0 million for each project.
  • Peu has co-invested with other community-based trusts in order to foster community based shareholding, these include:
    • The Entrepreneurship Development Trust (co-investor Investec Limited ("Investec")); and
    • Kei Fleet Solutions (co-investor FleetAfrica Eastern Cape).
  • The Group is committed to a R5,0 million contribution to kick-start the Empowerment Zone, which incorporates infrastructure and advisory services for up and coming entrepreneurs, creating community upliftment and job opportunities. The business parks are to be situated in previously disadvantaged communities, the first of which will be in Soweto. This investment will be developed in conjunction with the City of Johannesburg, the business community and Peu investee companies.
  • In both the Super Group Limited ("Super Group") and Investec transactions, Peu co-invested with black staff.
  • Our deals are characterised by broad based empowerment including black investee company staff.
