Investec Limited
  • Peu acquired a 6% equity interest in Investec with other black empowerment co-investors where the deal structure was fundamentally backed by the Public Investment Commissioners.
  • Investec is one of South Africa's most globalised banking groups, listed on the JSE.
  • Peter Malungani is a director on the boards of Investec, Investec Bank Limited and Invested Plc and Investec Asset Management.
Capital Alliance Holdings Limited
  • In June 2002, Peu purchased an effective 10.4% equity interest in Capital Alliance together with Investec in a 50/50 joint venture.
  • Capital Alliance has been sold to Liberty Group for an effective consideration of R3 500 million.
  • Capital Alliance is a leader in integration & administration in the financial services sector and was listed on the JSE.
  • Peter Malungani was the deputy chairman of Capital Alliance and Capital Alliance Life Limited.
Super Group Limited
  • In 2000, Peu acquired a 30% equity interest in in FleetAfrica which was structured as an earn-in model.
  • A senior Peu executive was seconded to FleetAfrica as deputy managing director responsible for new commercial business and transformation.
  • The fleet grew from 1 800 (2000) to 18 000 (2004) vehicles, which enabled Peu to exchange its share in FleetAfrica for shares in Super Group (25.1%).
  • Super Group is a substantial logistics and transport group in South Africa, listed on the JSE.
  • Peter Malungani is chairman of Super Group. Busi Tshili and Bheki Shongwe are also board members.
Lazarus Motor Company (Pty) Limited
  • Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Mpindo (Pty) Limited, Peu has owned 50.1% of Lazarus Motors since 2000. Lazarus Motors has grown substantially over the past five years.
  • Lazarus Motors is a significant motor dealership and is a distributor of Land Rover, Jaguar, Ford and Mazda as well as the sole distributor of Noble sports cars in South Africa.
  • Lazarus Motors secured the Eskom fleet contract for 2003, 2004 and 2005.
  • Lazarus Motors recently received the "2004 Dealer of the Year" award by Ford Motor Company SA.
InspectaCar
  • Peu holds a 49.9% partnership with Wesbank (50.1%), a division of First Rand Bank Limited, in "Pre Loved Cars" franchiser, InspectaCar.
  • The relationship Peu has developed with InspectaCar bears testimony to the Group's aspiration of becoming a major player in the automotive industry.
  • The company is endorsed by the Automobile Association ("AA") and aims to sell AA-approved used cars under the brand of InspectaCar, including a complimentary range of related services and product offerings allowing for more people to be able to access cars.
Masana Technologies (Pty) Limited
  • Masana Technologies is a black owned and controlled South African company operating in the ICT environment, established in 1997 and incorporated in 1999 by Peu.
  • The company's service offering includes:
    • outsourcing - desk-side support, network management, server management, solution and project management and procurement services;
    • business integration;
    • e-transactioning; and
    • storage and hosting services.
  • Masana as prime contractor partnering IBM, Dimension Data and a number of smaller BEE companies , has been awarded the contract for the provision of IT outsource services to the City of Johannesburg for 2005 to 2010.
  • Masana will become an employer of more than 200 people by 2006.
